Democratic Socialism surging in the age of Trump

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A week ago, Maine Democrat Zak Ringelstein wasn’t quite ready to consider himself a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, even if he appreciated the organization’s values and endorsement in his bid to become a U.S. senator.

Three days later, he told The Associated Press it was time to join up. He’s now the only major-party Senate candidate in the nation to be a dues-paying democratic socialist.

Ringelstein’s leap is the latest evidence of a nationwide surge in the strength and popularity of an organization that, until recently, operated on the fringes of the liberal movement’s farthest left flank. As Donald Trump’s presidency stretches into its second year, democratic socialism has become a significant force in Democratic politics. Its rise comes as Democrats debate whether moving too far left will turn off voters.

Police Arrest Antifa Member with Cache of Bomb-Making Materials

Police in South Dakota arrested a self-proclaimed member of the violent leftist group Antifa who had a “concerning” cache of firearms, bomb-making materials, and an Antifa manifesto in his possession.

Police in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, originally arrested Mark Christopher Einerwold, 43, on July 17 on charges of burglary, but upon serving a warrant at his home, officers discovered “concerning” evidence that he may have been planning something bigger, KELO reported.

In his Blaine Avenue home, investigators discovered bomb-making materials along with illegal firearms and accessories. The materials included ammonium nitrate and aluminum powder, a sawed-off shotgun, and a homemade rifle silencer, police said. Source: Breitbart News

Kiddie ‘Commie Camp’ Creating Antifa Flags – Teaching A New Generation Of Terrorists As Radicalism Becomes The New Norm For The Democratic Party

In Tolland, Massachusetts there is summer camp called Camp Kinderland, in which looking at images from years past, seems to be a normal summer camp with kids singing, playing, boating, playing Frisbee, you know, the normal activities one generally associates with summer camps for children….. but this is no normal camp.

This specific camp as been dubbed #commiecamp by film director Katie Halper. A social justice theme camp that admits on their about page that they “integrate progressive values with arts, recreation, and activism,” with a “commitment to economic, racial, and social justice.”

If creating a whole new generation of communists by indoctrinating them into “progressive” ideology is slightly disturbing, what should truly concern everyone, other than Democratic socialists, is the type of “activism” these children are being taught as part of their activities.

Such as having these children create Antifa flags, as proudly touted by Mark Bray, a lecturer at Dartmouth College and an Occupy Wall Street organizer, and the author of the Anti-Fascist handbook, where he boasted on July 18, 2018, “Whoa the kids at @CampKinderland made their own #Antifa flags. For Democrats, History Is Bunk

American Thinker – For Democrats and their flunkies, history is all bunk unless it is self-serving.

The reason history is bunk to the Democrats is because history is a ledger of their perennial infatuation with monsters of the left – Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Ho, Fidel – including Putin, until it serves their interest to turn on a dime, as opportunists do, against those whom they were peddling a moment ago as friends and allies.

Take Putin, for instance, when Obama and Hillary were signaling “reset” with Moscow, and Obama whispering to then-Russian president Dmitri Medvedev in 2012 while the mic was hot to let Putin know that after the election, he would be much more flexible in dealing with Moscow’s autocrat.  Then came the presidential debates of 2012, and Obama harangued Mitt Romney, the Republican nominee, for daring to point out in his campaign that Russia was a most threatening enemy of American interests.

All this history is bunk for the Democrats and their media shills.  Then there is the larger and more debilitating factor in the present-day culture of the United States, as in Canada, that history is not taught seriously and objectively as a core curriculum in our schools and colleges.  What passes for history is more or less a mishmash of left-wing ideological constructs or narratives to relentlessly indict “white folks” for all the wrongs done to the “colored folks” in America and around the world in the pursuit of capitalist-imperialist profit.  Read the rest at the American Thinker

Maxine Waters supporters set fire to the American flag outside the Democratic firebrand’s Los Angeles office Thursday as way to counter an anticipated protest by a far-right militia group who never showed.

Washington Examiner –  Matt Drudge, editor and founder of the influential Drudge Report, on Thursday accused liberals in the news media of having a “fetish” for President Trump experiencing injury or even death.

“The Left’s continued fetish for Trump’s physical harm/death is stunning…,” Drudge wrote in a tweet on Thursday, with the latest cover of New Yorker magazine attached.

The Left’s Beheading Obsession – A window into progressive bloodlust. 

Front Page Mag – This week a Portland art gallery chose to display in its front window, facing the sidewalk at a busy intersection, a large black-and-white painting depicting the grisly decapitation of President Donald Trump. The painting is more than just another example of what a grotesque travesty modern artists have made of art. It is also a window into the left’s bloodlust and why progressivism is the totalitarian soulmate of Islamic fundamentalism.

The image at One Grand Art Gallery shows a hunting knife being drawn across the president’s neck as the executioner’s other hand grips Trump’s hair. Blood gushes from POTUS’ throat and streams from his nose while his eyes roll back in his head. Flames rise symbolically from an American flag pin on the president’s lapel, and the image is captioned in large capital letters, “F*** TRUMP.”

This execrable excuse for art is so vile and violent that it could have been produced by ISIS. It actually was produced by an “artist” apparently named Compton Creep, whose personal website displays extremely disturbing, gruesome samples of his literally satanic work. A local news reporter spoke with him about the Trump painting; art is meant to provoke thought, he said. Of course, this image is the opposite of thought-provoking; it is purely visceral agitprop, which is designed not to spark thought but to replace it with propagandized emotion. On Saturday as I was working on it, the real title came to mind, “The Beast and Enemy Within”! God is good because he knows I look at the Shobat’s site daily to glean news!!
